Discovery Gateway Presents the Annual Community Bee Award to Salt Lake County’s Erin Litvack

Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum’s began a new tradition last year, the annual Community Bee Award, presented during the fall fundraiser to honor a valued community partner whose work connects with the museum’s mission and improves the lives of children. This year’s award was presented during a VIP reception held before the 40th Bee-Day Bash Fundraiser on Oct. 6, 2018.

Discovery Gateway’s leadership staff, and the members of the executive committee of the board, have chosen to honor Deputy Mayor of County Services and Chief Administrative Officer for Salt Lake County Erin Litvack with the 2018 Community Bee Award. She was selected for her strategic role in developing the county/museum relationship during Discovery Gateway’s founding, sharing the desire to provide residents of the county with a quality children’s museum over the last 13 years, and in recent years, her support of the new leadership team and strategic direction. “Salt Lake County is our biggest supporter and in various leadership roles Erin has continued to dedicate her time, energy and talents to ensuring the partnership is successful in serving our community,” said Discovery Gateway’s Executive Director Laurie Hopkins.

The 40th Bee-Day Bash Fundraiser’s theme of Celebrating 40 Years of Learning Through Play applauds the historic milestones of the museum while painting a picture of a bold new future benefitting all of Utah’s children. “I am humbled and honored to be recognized by the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum. The museum is an important contributor to the lives of children and families throughout the state of Utah. The enriching educational and interactive experiences create cherished family memories and foster hands on learning for everyone in our community. I value and cherish the opportunity I have had to contribute to this agency and it’s rich 40-year history.”
