Discovery Gateway’s 7th Annual Bumble Bee Bash – Discovery Gateway Children's Museum

Discovery Gateway Children's Museum announces its 7th Annual Bumble Bee Bash scheduled for Saturday, September 23 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The theme of the event, Imagine What You Can Beecome, encourages children of all ages and abilities to dream big about their future. "Please join us for this memorable family event so we can continue to deliver the museum's educational experiences to our community for years to come" said Executive Director Laurie Hopkins. The evening will be filled with hors d'oeuvres, desserts, drinks, and play at Discovery Gateway to help raise funds for the museum's programs and exhibits. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction item experiences such as becoming the city mayor, a ballerina, or marine biologist for a day! Guests may also participate in opportunity drawings to win gift certificates to events and products from local businesses.

Tickets to the 7th Annual Bumble Bee Bash are available at discoverygateway.org and are $35 for adults, $20 for children, and a family ticket for up to six people is $100. Discovery Gateway is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to educating and inspiring children to imagine what they can beecome. All proceeds from the Bumble Bee Bash support Discovery Gateway's educational programs and exhibits that have served more than three million visitors in its current Gateway location since 2006.

During the evening's festivities, Discovery Gateway will present the annual Community Bee Award to honor an outstanding community member whose work connects with the museum's mission and improves the lives of children. The 2017 Community Bee Award will be presented to KUED's Education Coordinator Elise Brimhall. Since 2011, Elise has spearheaded several partnership events at Discovery Gateway Children's Museum, and was a key stakeholder in the Salt Lake City Mayor's Initiative A Capital City Education, Salt Lake County's Talking is Teachinginitiative, and sits on the Utah Education Association Business Partnership Board.
