Dear museum visitors and members,
Thank you for being one of our valued patrons. As we approach the end of another year, we find ourselves reflecting on the journey we’ve been on together. Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum (DGCM) has been a nonprofit institution in this community for over 45 years.
We are reliant on the generosity of our community members to help us continue to build exhibits, programs, and host events that foster the curiosity of young minds. Here at DGCM, we take great pride in our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
A special and important initiative of ours is to distribute free tickets, program scholarships, and discounted events for individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Museum Inclusion Fund provides an opportunity for us to ensure that every child can experience the magic of the museum. As a family from the Ronald McDonald House mentioned, “We have a son with sensory processing disorders and he LOVES Discovery Gateway, having a place that encourages him to touch and feel helps him to learn and sooth him, thanks so much for the tickets!”
Looking back over 2023, we were able to provide over 2,000 tickets to underserved youth and families in the community. We also hosted 3 special community days which saw over 500 attendees at each. To wrap up the end of our year, we are asking for your help to continue building up this program. Your contributions, both big and small, play a pivotal role in making our work possible. This year, we have set ambitious goals, and we are confident that with your support, we can achieve them.
In 2024, we plan to distribute over 5,000 tickets, provide transportation assistance, offer 100 summer camp and other program scholarships, and host at least 4 community events. Your support is crucial in helping us fulfill our mission, and your contribution will make a lasting impact.
