Jacob Adamson is the Design Project Coordinator at Discovery Gateway where he develops existing and new exhibits within the museum. He is a recent graduate of the University of Utah and holds a Bachelor of Science in design. Before starting at Discovery Gateway in June of 2019, Jacob worked with the Utah Museum of Natural History on multiple projects including an exhibit on light pollution as well as furniture.
Museums are a great way to get people excited about learning, and children’s museums are no different. Jacob loves working at Discovery Gateway because the exhibits he develops serve as a learning experience and enjoyment for others. Not only that but he gets to develop his own skills as a designer and eventually extend these skills to natural history, and science museums.
Jacob has always had a fascination with museums and exhibit design, and this passion for design even extends into furniture. In his free time Jacob builds furniture for himself and others, pulling inspiration from Scandinavian and American designers. He hopes to one day implement this hobby into his work whether it’s in a museum or as a transition into industrial design.
