Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum Has Something Buzzin’ For Utah Families This Weekend

May 13, 2021--- Salt Lake City, Utah--- Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum (DGCM) is kicking off it’s spring season tomorrow with it’s annual return of “Happy Bee Day” celebrating Utah’s bee population in a LIVE exhibit and two full days of buzzworthy activities for children and their families.

Currently, Utah is home to over 1,000 native bee species--- 25% of the bee species in North America---and DGCM has found purpose in educating children of the important role bees have in today’s world. Through a LIVE bee exhibit and hosting a full day of educational activities for children of all ages, including a special hands on presentation from the Wasatch Beekeepers, the museum aims to inspire the next generation to be environmentally aware and active in helping to save the bee population. “We are constantly adding new activities to our galleries so members and visitors will encounter something fun and new each time they visit our children’s museum,” said Kathleen Bodenlos, CEO of DGCM. “Our goal is to not only entertain but to educate and inspire the children of Utah and with exhibits like this, the world opens and possibilities begin for them.”

Come enjoy bee themed activities Friday May 14th and Saturday May 15th 10:00AM to 5:00PM which includes “Name the Queen Bee,” Adopt a Bee, adorable bee crafts, bee story time, a bee costume contest with prizes and so much more! Included with Admission or FREE for Members.
