2023 World Connections Festival
at Discovery Gateway Children's Museum

Salt Lake City – July 28, 2023 –

Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum will host World Connections Festival on Saturday, August 5th from 10 AM to 4 PM. The event is free with admission to the Museum. Festivities will include live performances from some of Salt Lake City’s finest performers.

Jacob Crane will showcase an interactive Indigenous Dance at 10:30 AM, followed by a group of Polynesian dancers at 12:30 PM. After a break, Best of Africa will be performing traditional Dance at 2 PM. To celebrate with music, we have the Scottish Bag Piping Band 2:30 PM. The Irish music Band will be finishing this eventful day with their iconic music at 3:30 PM.

Meanwhile, there will be Henna Artist, Native American, South American, and East European Artisans along with food vendors from southern cultures.

The museum received a generous grant from Salt Lake City Arts Council and Salt Lake City Arts, Culture and Events Fund to support the performers, artisans, and culture food vendors.

George & Dolores Eccles, Ernst & Young, Rocky Mountain Power (PacifiCorp), PNC Bank, Swanson Family Foundation, Williams Foundation, PROG Foundation, and First Utah Bank sponsored the Medallion program, which enables children in need to see the museum and attend this event for free. Medallion children will also enjoy a pizza party provided by Little Caesars Pizza through Lend A Hand.

The performances will be held in the Theater on the second floor, adjacent to the museum entrance, located in downtown Salt Lake City, 444 West 100 South.

The contemporary museum has been a Salt Lake City Favorite for over 45 years, offering 60,000 square feet of interactive, hands-on educational fun. Through engaging exhibits, Indoor water play, art programs and classes, the entire family will be able to enjoy a unique educational experience that combines creativity, play and learning.
