Healthy Frozen Treats
All Ages

Summer in Utah is warming up fast! A great way to beat the heat is with a cool and yummy treat! This is a fun way to get your kids into in the kitchen to help you make something healthy and delicious. You can you use many different kinds of fruit and fun molds, so get creative and stay cool!

Strawberry Chia  Popsicles

Materials:

  • 3/4 cup yogurt (any kind)
  • 2 1/2 cups strawberries
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)

Makes 12 small popsicles or 6 large depending on your mold

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in blender or food processor and pour into mold. Freeze overnight and enjoy the next day!

To save for later date, remove popsicles from mold and store in a freezer bag. If you do not have a popsicle mold, you can make one your own using an ice tray, or even small cupt. Pour mixture into tray or cups and cover with tin foil. Using a knife, make a slit in tin foil over each section and slide a popsicle stick through each slit.

If you don’t have these exact ingredients you can substitute with what you do have on hand and use this basic recipe:
3/4 cup liquid (fruit juice, water, milk, or yogurt)
2 1/2 cups fruit
4 tablespoons honey, agave, or maple syrup
1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
