STEAM Learning Lab – Kitchen Utensil Bubble Wands

Kitchen Utensil Bubble Wands
2 and up

This is a cool experiment that is perfect to do on a hot summer day.  It’s also a good way to get even the youngest children thinking like a scientist, and reinforcing that science is fun!  By doing this informal experiment your children will learn about making predictions, designing experiments and comparing the results. Now let’s make some bubbles!

Materials:

Kitchen utensils/household objects
Large tray/pan/cookie sheet
Bubble solution: Combine 3 cups water, 1 cup dish soap and  ½ cup corn syrup

Directions:

  1. Invite children to go through the house, especially the kitchen and select items that they think would be good bubble wands. Invite them to explain their choices
  2. Head outside
  3. Fill tray/pan/cookie sheet with bubble solution
  4. Test out the potential bubble wands
  5. Discuss the results. Which wands worked the best? Which objects made the biggest bubbles? What didn’t work at all?

Este es un experimento divertido que es perfecto para un caluroso día de verano. ¡también es una buena manera de hacer que incluso los niños más pequeños piensen como un científico, y reforzar que la ciencia es divertida! Al hacer este experimento informal, sus hijos aprenderán a hacer predicciones, diseñar experimentos y comparar los resultados. ¡ahora hagamos algunas burbujas!

Materiales:

Utensilios de cocina/ objetos domésticos
Bandeja grande/bandeja/bandeja para galletas
Solución de burbujas: combine 3 taza de agua, 1 taza de jabón para platos y ½ taza de jarabe de maíz

Direcciones:

  1. Invite a los niños a pasar por la casa, especialmente la cocina y seleccionar elementos que consideren que serian buenas varitas de burbujas. invítelos a explicar sus elecciones.
  2. Dirígete afuera
  3. Llene la bandeja/bandeja/bandeja para galletas con su solución de burbujas.
  4. Pruebe las varitas de burbujas potenciales
  5. Discuta los resultados. ¿Qué varitas funcionaron mejor? ¿Qué objectos hicieron las burbujas más grandes? ¿que no funciono en absoluto?
