Where is Discovery Gateway located?

Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum is located in downtown Salt Lake City at The Gateway, 444 West 100 South. We are easily accessible from I-15 and within walking distance of many downtown attractions, making us a convenient stop for families exploring Salt Lake City.

Is there public transportation access?

Yes. Discovery Gateway is easily accessible via TRAX light rail. We are located just steps from the Planetarium Station stop at The Gateway, making it simple to visit from anywhere in the Salt Lake Valley.

Is parking available?

Yes. Parking is easy and convenient at The Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City. We recommend the North Garage for the closest access to Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum. Parking validation is available for $2.00 during your visit.

Can we leave and come back the same day?

Yes. Same-day re-entry is allowed. Please check in with the front desk before exiting so we can provide re-entry instructions.

Is my child too young (or too old) for Discovery Gateway?

Not at all. Discovery Gateway is designed for toddlers through elementary-aged children. Toddlers and preschoolers love the sensory and imaginative play areas, while older children enjoy building, experimenting, and hands-on STEAM and art activities. Families with multiple children often find there’s something engaging for everyone.

How long should we plan to spend at the museum?

Yes. Discovery Gateway offers birthday party packages that include exhibit access and a dedicated celebration space. Hosting your child’s party at the museum combines hands-on fun with an easy planning experience for parents.

Do you offer camps and special programs?

We offer seasonal camps, school break programs, field trips, and special events throughout the year. Our programs combine creativity, science, and imaginative play in a fun and engaging environment.

Can I apply the cost of daily admission toward a membership?

Yes. The cost of your daily admission can be applied toward a membership on the same day as your visit. Simply speak with our front desk team before you leave.
